Summer Intensive

I really enjoyed summer intensive. We had our teacher Mr. C teaching our class for both weeks except one day! We did barre exercises, center work, leaping from corner to corner, and at the end ''stretching and strengthening''. Stretching through the summer break pays off when you slide into the splits and realize you are one off the three or four people who can go all the way down, so keep stretching!!! We had two hours of ballet every day except Saturday and Sunday. Bliss! I was sad when it ended and I look forward to Fall.

(The picture above shows Grace and I in matching leotards on the last day of Summer Intensive)

Miniatures

I'm sorry for not posting in awhile but I've been busy, busy with MINIATURES!! I have been trying to finish most of my doll house in time [which I don't think will happen] for the arrival of my new doll house!!!! It's a small two story two room house which is going to be turned into a Bakery!!! Mr. and Mrs. Blue Jay [above] are the doll house family. They have a little girl named Lydia and a baby named Charles. Do you like the photos they have in their living room?
We have made [for them]: bolts of fabric, knitting needles in a basket of yarn, cake mix boxes and flour boxes, newspapers, an apron, cookies, pies, perfume bottle [out of beads], donuts, and fruit.

I WENT TO AMERICAN GIRL PLACE!

We looked at everything and Mom and Dad even bought an American Girl mystery book and a movie called ''Chrissa Stands Strong'' for me!
We visited Bitty Baby.
Kit liked this part the best! I did too.
I also liked Kirsten's area.I know, I know, I'm totally serious looking, but I was thinking of my friend Anna who lives in Louisiana and I've not seen her in three years and I miss her. She has Kirsten.
But I still loved looking at the other dolls!
This is the book store, A WONDERFUL PLACE!! I loved hanging out here.
We checked out the choosing dolls too.
And ,well of course, how could we forget the doll hair salon?
Goodbye American Girl.

Showcase Costume

The Twenty Sixth is our June recital!!! And this is my costume [up above] which I get to keep! I'm very exited! This is my first performance at my dance school. Everybody has a partner and we all have the same kind of dress. We even have a flower clip to put in our bun.

Ballet Poem by Claire

I Love Ballet
I love ballet,
my leotard blue and pink,
I love ballet,
the music is soothing I think.
Ballet makes me happy,
my smile is getting wider,
Ballet makes me happy,
my ballerina future is getting brighter.
Ballet is very pretty,
the plies, fondus and all,
Ballet is very nice,
though in a pirouette I
usually fall.
But I still love ballet!

Brothers in Ballet

I have three brothers in dance (Andrew, Luke, and Patrick) and I think it's awesome! But people are a little surprised when they find out that they're boys and they take ballet. One of our friends said, ''I can't believe that you do ballet, I thought that was girly!'' Luke's response was ''Well, the first ballet dancers were men!'' But it's not girly and I like having Andrew in class with me. It's also fun when Andrew practises his choreographed partnering dance at home because he practises with me! It doesn't seem strange to me at all that I have three brothers taking ballet. I think of it as an honor especially for Luke and Patrick because they are the only younger boys at our dance school that are currently taking ballet.
